Deborah Levy, born 1959 in South Africa, is a British writer. Following several novels, she works as a playwright and author of screenplays. Several of her works have been staged by the Royal Shakespeare Company. Her first book in German Heim schwimmen/Swimming Home captured international headlines and was among the finalists for the Man Booker Prize in 2012.
Deborah Levy writes stories where the contemporary and the uncanny become indistinguishable.
